Detailed Course Overview:

The Level 2 Award in Citizen Aid is a 3-hour course, designed to teach people life-saving skills for use in extreme situations.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Determine the appropriate actions to take in various events, using the citizenAID app or pocket guide. These events include knife attacks and active shooters, exploded bombs, suspicious items, and acid or vehicle attacks.
  • Report incidents to the emergency services.
  • Prioritise multiple casualties.
  • Provide sufficient information when the emergency services arrive. 
  • Respond to an unresponsive casualty, who is breathing.
  • Control severe external breathing. This includes applying manufactured and improvised tourniquets, and using improvised and manufactured dressings to pack wounds. 

 

English Language

Learners should, as a minimum, have language skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening at Ofqual Level 1 or equivalent.  Please contact us if you have any doubt about whether you meet this criteria. 

The course is aimed at members of the public. It is designed to teach people how to react safely in the event of a terrorist attack. 

You will gain a QA Level 2 Award in citizenAID (RQF), and your certificate will be valid for 3 years. The course is Ofqual regulated.
