MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THE COMMUNITY AROUND HEATON PARK
As well as Gottwood and The Great North Swim security last weekend (8th – 9th June 2019) FGH also deployed over a hundred friendly team members to operate in the community surrounding Heaton Park as Parklife 2019 took place as part of the Community Impact Team. FGH have provided staff for this remit for the past four years with the primary focus of discouraging anti-social behaviour, ensuring festival goers are respectful of the local community and engaging with residence to address any concerns they have. We worked in conjunction Greater Manchester Police, Bury, Rochdale and Manchester City Council and Environmental Health Officials to help minimise any social impact as 180,000 festival attended the event over three days.
Lewis Walsh, FGH Security, Community Impact Manager said, “This weekend the FGH Security Team were deployed at Parklife held at Heaton Park Manchester, during the event we deployed 121 staff who formed part of the Community Impact Team working alongside Bury, Rochdale and Manchester City Council, Parklife Management, Ground Control, Greater Manchester Police, Ideal Cleaning, NWAS, and other partner agencies. This operation focused on ensuring that the impact to communities surrounding the park is reduced via engagement with the residents, businesses and indeed the 180,000 customers who attended and enjoyed the 3-day extravaganza. A key part of the Community Impact Operation is to egress and disperse the crowds safely at the end of each evening, this can only be achieved by the co-operation of all involved including Showsec, SEP and TFGM. This year’s event has yet again been hailed a great success and we at FGH Security are very proud to have played our part in delivering such a fantastic event for the city of Manchester.”
