‘Liverpool has always been a city of sound, so it’s great to see an event that opens up this buzzing music community to an outside audience. Great bands, great venues and great vibes – or, as they say in these parts, ‘boss’!‘ – Rob Webb, NME
Crowned Best metropolitan festival at the UK Festival Awards, Liverpool Sound City is an unrivalled 2-day festival of incredible live music and arts held on the Bramley-Moore Dock. It aims to capture the musical essence of Liverpool and aims to reinforce it as the cultural core of the UK music scene. Since it began in 2008 it has grown to be recognised as one of the most well-respected cultural events in the UK and offers much more than just music. Events throughout the festival include: key note speakers from around the world, a host of artistic workshops, 1-2-1 meetings and TED style talks. Known as the ‘first music festival of the year’ the event has seen the likes of The Flaming Lips, Belle & Sebastian, Bastille and Royal Blood perform. This year is no exception with The Vaccines, Everything Everything and The Cribs taking to the stage to wow the event’s loyal and growing audience.
Having originally approached us based on the work we have done with other large events and festivals, the event’s management team invited us to take part in a detailed tender process. We were successful and awarded the contract for this year’s event.
Alex Redman (Operations Manager) who will manage the partnership on behalf of FGH said, ‘Sound City complements our existing summer event portfolio perfectly. I’m really looking forward to working with their team to build a long lasting relationship which sees their event flourish over the coming years. In many ways this festival is really unique but we are in an ideal position to cater for it due to the quality and experience of our supervisory staff and event security operatives.’
Liam Cook from Sound City said, ‘Sound City is delighted to be working with the wonderful FGH Security to deliver a safe and secure environment at our unique, historical festival site on the Liverpool Waters Bramley-Moore Dock. FGH are crucial in ensuring Sound City 2016 is a great success!’
