Project Servator – London Security Team collaborate with the Met Police Service

Our London Security Team at New West End Company (NWEC) recently collaborated with the Metropolitan Police Service on Project Servator. Project Servator aims to deter, detect and disrupt a range of criminal activity, including terrorism while providing a reassuring presence for the public.

FGH Security has worked with New West End Company (the business partnership which represents 600 businesses in London’s West End & Mayfair) since April 2021, and we work to make the West End’s International Centre more diverse, sustainable, and secure! Team FGH are on hand 24/7, 365 days a year keeping 200 Million people and assets worth in excess of £100 Billion, safe.

Our London Security Team is committed to keeping the West End safe and so we were more than happy to undertake this joint Operation, led by PC Brian Masters of the Metropolitan Police Service. The Operation began with an introduction to Project Servator, which gave detailed insights into how to spot anomalous or unusual behaviour, finding the baseline of an area, and what to do if someone is acting out of the ordinary or responding to a security presence negatively.

The team then deployed in 3 groups and partnered with 7 Project Servator Officers to Oxford Circus and Oxford Street to review the crowds and challenge anyone acting suspiciously.

In total throughout the course of the session, around 10 individuals were stopped and spoken to, including two undercover Met Police Officers.

Tom Sharman, FGH Security Operations Manager who oversees the Central London Security Team commented;

“This was a fantastic opportunity for the NWEC Security team to upskill and the Operation was well received by the FGH Security Officers and our Canine teams alike. The session was a complete success and we will look forward to collaborating on more Operations with our Police and Local Authority colleagues, to continue to effectively keep the West End safe.”
